The Vacancy
Nixon Hire launched a Renewables Division in 2019, the growth has gone from strength to strength, with demand for more eco-friendly products now at an all-time high. Most recently we have seen a surge in demand for sustainable power solutions which has led us to invest significantly in more cutting-edge products and create a new dedicated Renewable Power Division with a vision to become the cleanest power division in the market.

Key Responsibilities
Installation and calibration of renewable products on customer sites. Where required hard wiring of customer units to renewable products. Earthing of all required renewable products. Electrically Testing, Electrically Inspecting & Electrically and certifying renewable products.
Completion of Site Handovers to customers, working with Product Support Coordinator to ensure a successful installation. Completing a sign off on site to ensure all equipment is operable and site are aware of how to use, manage and maintain.
Coaching and developing the knowledge of GM’s/CSDM’s, Renewable Power staff, Technical BDM’s and Customer site team members in the use of all renewable products.
Ability to deliver effective training based on identified skills gaps with the Renewable Power division.
Develop improved product performance utilising extensive knowledge of Renewable Power products and site solutions.
Regular completion of preventative maintenance, servicing, health checks, electrical checks, and Solar PV testing, in line with the companies’ guidelines and legislative requirements.
Complete all required repairs to renewable products as required both on customer sites and in CoE locations.
Decommissioning of all renewable products at the end of hire on customers sites, including but not limited to disconnection of all power, decommissioning of products, battery management.
Qualifications - Essential
18th Edition Electrical
Temporary Power Systems BS:7909, City and Guilds
Level 3 in Electrical instillation, City and Guilds
MBPA Level I & II certified
Earthing & Bonding qualified
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) certified.
Generator Awareness certified
CSCS Works Card
Experience – Essential
3 years+ delivering a similar role.
2 years+ Generator Mechanical Technician operational role
Skills
Effective organisational competence, able to manage multiple tasks.
Effective prioritising skills, to maintain order in busy depots.
Effective communication skills to support and guide the division effectively. Verbal and written, internally, externally, up, down and horizontally.
Health & Safety Awareness with risk Assessment experience.
Fully competent in all safety protocols and regulations related to depot operations.
Excellent attention to detail specifically in quality control and safety compliance.
Product knowledge excellence.
VRM and remote monitoring knowledge excellence – including, but not limited to, diagnostics, trend identification and remote issue resolution.
